Crest Ridge Saddlery® is proud to announce the addition of a synthetic saddle for low to medium withered horses to our series of Ardent saddles. We have been inundated with requests for a synthetic saddle for some time now. The Crusade Lite is our response to these requests! Crest Ridge Saddlery® wanted to make sure OUR synthetic met the guidelines we apply to all our saddles, a quality product at a reasonable price that would hold up to the use of an ardent rider! 

The Crusade Lite weighs just

  • 20  pounds in a 15 inch seat
  • 20 1/2 pounds in a 16" seat
  • 21 pounds in a 17 inch seat
making it ideal for young and old alike. A perfect, low maintenance saddle for trail, Endurance or training. 5-8 weeks on delivery.
The Crusade Lite provides a light weight, economical alternative to our traditional leather saddles. No compromises of quality were made in the construction of these saddles. We have used the same base for these saddles as that of our Guffey series, the J-bar tree. The Crest Ridge J-bar tree has stood the test of time. Originally seen in the saddles dating back to 1880, it was originally specifically designed for mules and narrow-bodied animals. This time tested and true tree has proven its worth in the thousand of animals able to remain sound with heavy use. This style of tree had not been available on a large scale since the late 1940-50’s. Crest Ridge Saddlery® trees are individually crafted out of wood encapsulated in the fiberglass to prevent water damage,  to ensure strength, durability and the integrity of the tree. This coverage is even by the horn, no water can seep in from any source to cause damage, preventing the tree from being subject to warp!
The Crusade Lite saddle allow your horse's shoulders to move freely without any pressure or pinching. In addition the solid tree distributes your weight across the broad area of your horse's back muscles preventing uneven pressure and allowing the horse to USE his back correctly to perform the signature gait of his breed. 
The Crusade Lite comes with a Deep Padded Seat. These 15, 16, & 17 inch saddles are built with a Fairway swell front ( 9.5”  wide) on it and a medium height cantle (3.75 inch) High Cantle allows for closer contact, which allows for a better harmony between equine and rider. The Crusade Lite is made just like the Crusade, there is no extra leather on the bars to allow for a close contact saddle with a lighter weight. 
We guarantee you will not find a better quality or better fitting synthetic saddle ANYWHERE! 
 

Finally, a great looking synthetic saddle, with the enduring quality, comfort and fit you expect from Crest Ridge Saddlery®. The Crusade Lite is ideal for trail, endurance, training or as a lightweight second saddle. Skirts and fenders are synthetic, the jockeys, swell and cantle and stirrups are crafted from steerhide leather - far more durable than the materials traditionally used on this type of saddle. 

The seat is a center pocket seat to keep the rider in the perfect place in the seat at all times. Available in a leather seat and Jockey or a sure-grip suede seat with leather Jockey (pictured). 

The Crusade Lite is made with 1000 denier weight Cordura, strong enough to hold up to extended use. Synthetic Lining.
 
The Crusade Lite Crest Ridge synthetic saddle features front hanging dee rigging, the most durable available. Hanging dee rigging consists of one piece of leather wrapped around the dee, both loose ends attached directly to the tree with screws and reinforced with copper rivets. In-skirt rigging is inferior because all that holds the rigging is 2 or 3 copper rivets attached to 2 or 3 layers of leather, sewn into place. Wouldn't you rather know the tree is holding your saddle in place, rather than a piece or 2 of leather attached to a synthetic material? 
All Ardent Series saddles come equipped with a Crupper Ring on the back of the Cantle.  This whole saddle is tough and durable and is very well balanced no matter what sort of terrain you will be riding it in. 

 REAL BLEVINS BUCKLES!
 Flare is the angle the front or point of the bars lay along the shoulders of the horse. Part of the special feature of the J-bar tree used in the Crusade Lite is the bars flare, allowing ample room for the shoulders and head movement signature of so many of the gaited breeds!  Mass produced saddles seldom have enough flare in the bars. This commonly results in a stiff horse as the horse cannot bend his body to turn with contacting the leading points of the bars. Without enough flare the bar will be digging into the horses shoulder. Our Crusade Lite is hand crafted with the needs of the Gaited Horse in mind!
The Billet, Tie Strap and saddle strings are made from the finest latigo leathers available (cut from the backs of hides to give the best strength and resistance to stretching). Firm feel, yet are supple to work with. Good lacing weight and durable. Each one is individually hand crafted, built to the highest standard of craftsmanship from America's best materials. When ordering, please specify if your tree is to fit a Gaited Horse or Gaited Mule or a Stock Mule and we will choose the tree that is made right for your animal(s). Our custom options allow you to design a saddle that meets your specific riding needs. We will need the measurements from THIS page prior to accepting any order, so we can insure a GREAT FIT!

Crest Ridge Saddlery ® Warranty is to the original purchaser only, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship excluding misuse and neglect. Freight to return a product to the company, for defective determination, is borne by the purchaser.

These saddles are designed for use on the trail and recreational riding and are not in any way guaranteed for roping or any other purpose that varies from the original design intent. This warranty does not apply to any defects caused by negligence, misuse, alteration, abuse or accidents.

Crest Ridge Saddlery ® will repair or replace, at it's sole discretion, any product found to be defective by the company, for use as intended, after return to, and examination by, the company. The sole remedy under the warranty or under any implied warranty is limited to the replacement of defective parts.
