Guffey Gaited Horse & Gaited Mule Saddle 

Crest Ridge Saddlery presents “The Guffey,” a wonderful saddle designed specifically for avid gaited horse equestrians who spend many hours in the saddle and on the trail. “The Guffey” is a beautiful hand-crafted steer hide trail saddle that will serve the rider well for many years to come. The seat is a center pocket seat to keep the rider in the perfect place in the seat at all times. 

This saddle is made on one of our 19 wooden trees, each of which is wrapped in fiberglass for extra durability. “The Guffey” has a deep seat with a 5.5 inch high cantle. This tree can be ordered in gaited horse, mule or combination versions. This gaited horse saddle has a wonderful flare in the front of the tree so that nothing interferes with the horse's natural gait and the gullet is high enough not to get in the way of his natural head bob.

To prevent elbow chaffing on your horse, our rigging in this saddle is set at ¾ hanging dee on the front, and drop Rigging on the back. Hanging dee rigging is the most durable for trail riding because the dee hangs and both ends of leather are fastened directly to the tree. All the rings on this saddle are attached directly to the tree for extra durability

Custom matching accessories, including bridles, reins, breast collars, breeching, saddle bags, pommel bags are available when you order your Guffey saddle.  these accessories will be made from the same leather with the same tooling by the same craftsmen that make your saddle.  These accessories will match the color of your saddle since they are made from the same dyed leather at the same time as your saddle is built.
